Scarlets supporters and coaches alike will be treated to an thrilling spectacle tomorrow as the region’s crop of talented youngsters get the season underway in the first of Scarlets’ three pre-season friendlies.

Three debutants are named in Scarlets’ starting XV as Australian Paul Asquith, Tom Grabham and Morgan Williams all get an opportunity to pull on the famous Scarlets jersey.

Joining the trio of new faces in the backline will be exciting teenagers Ioan Nicholas and Ryan Conbeer, in the centre and on the wing respectively, with former Dragons teammates Rhys Jones and Jonathan Evans starting as half-backs.

Scrum half Evans takes the captain’s armband for the first time as he’ll look to lead his team to victory.

Loosehead prop Dylan Evans makes his long awaited return from injury as he lines up in the front row with hooker Taylor Davies and tighthead prop Nicky Thomas.

David Bulbring and Tom Price add experience in the second row whilst Josh Macleod, Shaun Evans and Jack Condy add an exciting mix of youthful exuberance in the backrow.

Scarlets can call on the experience of Will Boyde, Lewis Rawlins and Hadleigh Parkes from the replacements bench.

The region’s opposition will be a Premiership Select side, made up of promising future regional stars talent from Carmarthen Quins, Llandovery and Llanelli.

More than twenty years on from Frano Botica’s debut in a Scarlets shirt, against Bath, his youngest son Jacob will make his debut for the Premiership Select side as he starts as fly half. Lifelong supporters of the region will no doubt be excited by the prospect of seeing a Botica light up the pitch in Scarlets colours once again!
