All residential properties in Carmarthenshire are being sent a Household Enquiry Form to check who should be registered to vote.

It is important to provide the information requested for the annual update of the Voters’ Roll because under Government rules you could be fined £1000 for failing to do so.

The council needs people to respond now even if there are no changes. Responding is quick and simple. Even if you voted in the recent elections you must still respond to this form.

To respond go to www.hef-response.co.uk and enter part 1 and part 2 of the security code that is printed on your form. It is quick and easy and you can do everything in once place, including:
●confirm there are no changes
●add new residents

If there are no changes you can also respond by telephone or text:
●Call 0800 025 3149 and when prompted enter part 1 and part 2
of the security code that is printed on your form
●Text your part 1 and part 2 of the security code to 07507
319820

If you don’t have access to a computer, tablet or smart phone, you can complete the form and post it back in the envelope provided (postage is free).

All new residents that are added to the Household Enquiry Form will need to apply to vote. Once notified of their names the council will send them an Individual Registration Form. New residents can either complete this form or return it in the envelope provided (postage is free) or they can go on line to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. The details required to register are your name, address, date of birth, national insurance number and a few other details.

Registering on line is the quickest and easiest way of doing it, however if you do not have access to the internet, you can phone the council on 01267 228889 to complete your application over the phone.
