Litterer and dog foulers hit with fixed penalties

ENVIRONMENTAL enforcement officers have issued fixed penalty notices for dog fouling and fly tipping offences in Carmarthenshire.
Over the weekend the officers employed by Carmarthenshire County Council issued three on the spot penalties for dog fouling.
Two were issued to two males who failed to clear their dog faeces in the Shands Road area of Ammanford and another on Pendine beach.
A further £75 fixed penalty was issued to a man who left waste on the ground at Abergwili recycling facility.
Executive board member for environmental health and public protection, Cllr Philip Hughes, said: “I hope these fixed penalty notices will help send out the message that our enforcement officers are about all over the county and that people who are careless about collecting dog waste and littering will be financially punished.
“We want to keep Carmarthenshire clean and tidy for residents and our increasing number of tourists. It is completely unacceptable that people leave their litter behind for others to collect or allow their dogs to foul on beaches, at parks when children play and on footpaths for the inconvenience of others without picking up after their pets.
“We can make a difference if we act responsibly and all have our part to play in keeping Carmarthenshire clean helping to reduce waste, recycle well by using facilities properly and also reporting people who flout the law.”

MAE swyddogion gorfodi materion amgylcheddol wedi rhoi hysbysiadau cosb benodedig am droseddau yn ymwneud â baw cŵn a thipio anghyfreithlon yn Sir Gaerfyrddin.
Dros y penwythnos rhoddodd y swyddogion a gyflogir gan Gyngor Sir Caerfyrddin dri hysbysiad cosb benodedig am faw cŵn.
Rhoddwyd i ddau ddyn a fethodd â glanhau eu baw cŵn yn ardal Heol Shands yn Rhydaman ac un arall ar draeth Pentywyn.
Cyflwynwyd hysbysiad cosb benodedig arall o £75 i ddyn a adawodd sbwriel ar y ddaear yn y cyfleuster ailgylchu yn Abergwili.
Meddai’r Cyng. Philip Hughes, yr aelod o’r bwrdd gweithredol dros iechyd yr amgylchedd a diogelu’r cyhoedd: “Gobeithiaf y bydd yr hysbysiadau cosb benodedig hyn yn helpu i gyhoeddi’r neges bod ein swyddogion gorfodi yn gweithio ar draws y sir a bydd pobl sy’n esgeulus am faw cŵn a sbwriel yn cael eu cosbi’n ariannol.
“Rydym eisiau cadw Sir Gaerfyrddin yn lân ac yn daclus ar gyfer ein preswylwyr a’n nifer cynyddol o dwristiaid. Mae’n hollol annerbyniol bod pobl yn taflu eu sbwriel i bobl eraill ei gasglu neu’n caniatáu i’w cŵn fawa ar draethau, mewn parciau lle mae plant yn chwarae ac ar lwybrau traed sy’n achosi anghyfleustra i bobl eraill, heb lanhau ar ôl eu hanifeiliaid anwes.
“Gallwn wneud gwahaniaeth os ydym yn gweithredu’n gyfrifol ac mae gennym i gyd rôl i’w chwarae i gadw Sir Gaerfyrddin yn lân i leihau gwastraff, ailgylchu trwy ddefnyddio cyfleusterau’n gywir ac adrodd am bobl sy’n herio’r gyfraith.”
