STARS JUMP FOR JOY IN NEW FESTIVE SWEATER COLLECTION
Save the Children and Selfish Mother join forces for a second year
to celebrate Christmas Jumper Day
Save the Children’s CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY is back for the sixth year
running and 2017 will see some of the finest stars from fashion, film
and music designing a new series of Selfish Mother slogan sweatshirts.
Blogger MOLLY GUNN, the brains behind the brand , and a
host of stars including POPPY DELEVINGNE, DAVID GANDY, LAUREN LAVERNE,
LUKE EVANS, KAREN ELSON, LAURA BAILEY, ERIN O’CONNOR, ADWOA ABOAH
AND NICK HOULT, have teamed up to create a range of jumpers in aid of
Save the Children that not only look good but do good too. The designs
each feature unique, festive slogans and are available to ORDER FROM
29TH OCTOBER exclusively at Selfish Mother’s online store, ‘THE
FMLY STORE’. [3]
The collection features fun slogans chosen by this year’s famous
faces including ‘ELFISH MOTHER’, ‘GOLD’, ‘GRINCH’
‘HOPEFUL’, ‘LOVE’, ‘MERRY’, ‘ALL THAT GLITTERS’,
‘DASHING ELF’ and ‘PEACE’. Shot by renowned photographer GREG
WILLIAMS, the campaign imagery sees stars jumping in their jumpers for
Save the Children. There are a range of unisex, crew-neck and
scoop-neck sweatshirts available for £50 carrying a 50% donation to
Save the Children.
HELENA WILTSHIRE HEAD OF PR AT SAVE THE CHILDREN, SAID: “We are
really excited to work with Molly Gunn of Selfish Mother again this
year for Christmas Jumper Day. We’re thrilled to have support from
familiar faces and introduce some fabulous new additions to the
campaign. The money raised from the sale of these sweaters could help
Save the Children bring essentials like healthcare, education,
protection and food to the millions of children around the world who
are missing out on the most basic support.”
MOLLY GUNN, FOUNDER OF SELFISH MOTHER AND MOTHER OF THREE, SAID:
“I’m delighted to be supporting Save the Children’s Christmas
Jumper Day for a second year running! Building on last year’s
success we have collaborated with some amazing people and created a
fabulous collection of festive sweatshirts. So whether you’re
feeling ‘MERRY’, ‘HOPEFUL’, or just want to share the
‘LOVE’, you can wear your sweatshirt knowing it’s making a
difference to children around the world.”
This year, Save the Children’s annual CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY is
taking place on Friday 15th December. By signing up at
CHRISTMASJUMPERDAY.ORG [4], sticking on a seasonal sweater and
donating £2 to Save the Children, you will not only be saving
children’s lives but you will also help to make sure the world’s
forgotten children get the chance to have a brighter future.

ADWOA ABOAH SAID: “My recent trip to Uganda really opened my eyes
to the incredible work that Save the Children is doing. To see the
smiles on the children’s faces, despite all the struggles they face,
was incredible. I’ve seen how the money is spent from fundraising
campaigns like Christmas Jumper Day and I can vouch for the fact that
aid really does work. So if you’ve got a heart of GOLD, make sure
you buy my Selfish Mother jumper this Christmas. Half the cost is
donated to the vital work of Save the Children – a charity I urge
you all to support.”
NICK HOULT SAID: “It’s been really great to get involved with
this campaign and quite an experience jumping in my very own Selfish
Mother Christmas sweatshirt for Save the Children. I hope that lots of
you will join me in wearing my ‘PEACE’ sweatshirt on 15th
December. Christmas Jumper Day is the perfect way to support a
wonderful charity that is bringing real change to children’s
lives.”
POPPY DELEVINGNE SAID: “I’m excited to be joining this fantastic
line up and hope my ‘ALL THAT GLITTERS’ sweatshirt adds some
sparkle this Christmas Jumper Day. My visit to the Democratic Republic
of Congo allowed me to see first-hand how Save the Children is working
tirelessly to empower girls and stop child marriage. Together,
through this campaign we can raise lots of money to support and
empower every last child around the world.”
DAVID GANDY SAID: “Don’t be a ‘GRINCH’ this Christmas, get
your hands on my limited edition Selfish Mother sweatshirt and help
raise money for Save the Children. I’m proud to be part of this
campaign for the second year running – Save the Children is an
incredible charity that does whatever it takes to give children in the
UK and around the world a better future. Join me on Christmas Jumper
Day and we can make the world better with a sweater.”
LAUREN LAVERNE SAID: “I’ve always been an avid supporter of Save
the Children, so to be asked to create my own festive sweater with the
brilliant Molly Gunn for Christmas Jumper Day was an honour. The money
raised from my ‘HOPEFUL’ sweater will give hope to children in the
UK and around the world this Christmas. And it’s not just for
Christmas – it can be worn all year round – so get yours now!”
LUKE EVANS SAID: “I supported this campaign last year by donning my
good friend Poppy’s jumper. So I jumped at the chance to design my
own Selfish Mother sweater this year. Last year I visited a Save the
Children education project in India and saw how fundraising campaigns
like this can make such a difference. Buy my ‘DASHING ELF’ sweater
so we can raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause.”
KAREN ELSON SAID: “I’ve had the privilege of seeing Save the
Children’s work in action in Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone and the
Za’atari Camp in Jordan, which is why I couldn’t be more dedicated
to this cause. If you want to give something back this Christmas then
make sure you buy my ‘MERRY’ sweatshirt from Selfish Mother.
You’ll look great and feel even better knowing your support is
helping save children’s lives.”
LAURA BAILEY SAID: “This year I’m spreading the love for Save the
Children with my very own ‘LOVE’ Selfish Mother sweatshirt. The
children I met when I visited a Save the Children project in India
last year were a huge inspiration and showed me why it’s so
important to support this amazing charity. Share the love this
Christmas Jumper Day and help us reach even more of the world’s most
disadvantaged children.”
ERIN O’CONNOR SAID: “If you want to be an ‘ELFISH MOTHER’
like me – get yourself one of my Selfish Mother sweatshirts for Save
the Children. I’ve been supporting Save the Children for years and
am a big fan of Selfish Mother – so of course had to join the
collaboration again this year. By buying a sweatshirt and taking part
in Christmas Jumper Day you’ll help to make a big difference to the
children who need it most.”
GREG WILLIAMS: “It’s been a pleasure to work with Save the
Children, Selfish Mother and such a high calibre of artists on their
collaboration for Christmas jumper Day again this year. For this shoot
I was inspired by Philippe Halsman’s jumping series and so we had a
lot of fun playing around with jumping shots and all our models were
more than happy to jump in! More importantly, knowing the money raised
from the campaign is helping vulnerable children in the UK and around
the world, makes it even more special!”
