Labour in Wales refuses responsibility over energy powers
It has been revealed during questions to the Cabinet Secretary for Energy, Planning and Rural Affairs Lesley Griffiths in the Senedd that the Welsh Government has asked for a delay in Wales getting powers over energy.
Plaid Cymru’s Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Energy Climate Change and Rural Affairs Simon Thomas said:
“I am amazed that the Labour Government in Wales is refusing to take responsibility over fracking powers and other energy powers until October 2018 and April 2019.
“In Wales we won’t be getting further powers on electricity generating stations of 350 megawatt until April 2019 because the Labour party is too timid when it comes to devolution.
“The people of Wales are ready for these powers but the Labour Government is once again holding our potential back.”
