Make a change in 2018! A new TV series offers an opportunity to stick to the New Year’s resolution
Everyone tends to enjoy a treat over the Christmas period … but soon our minds turn to the effect it could have on our health … was it a good idea to have that last piece of trifle?
The statistics are surprising! On Christmas Day alone, the turkey, trimmings, puddings and drinks can contribute to a total of 5,240 calories per person! *
In addition, there is the increasing concern for the nation’s health, with 60% of adults in Wales overweight, and 1 in 4 considered obese. **
But as we start the New Year, S4C is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to change old habits for good; to help five enthusiastic people to follow a fit and healthy lifestyle in the new FFIT Cymru series.
This is a unique opportunity for someone to gain from the services of a professional personal trainer, dietician and psychologist who will support and advise them every step of the way – and who are dedicated to making sure they reach their goal.
If you’re keen to get involved, you can register now on the s4c.cymru/ffitcymru website. The closing date is on 2 February 2018.
The producer of the series, created by Cwmni Da, urges you to go for it. Siwan Haf, from Cwmni Da says;
“Forget joining an expensive gym, this is the chance to start living healthily with the help of our team of enthusiastic experts. Where else can you have access to your own professional trainer, dietician and psychologist free of charge?
“On FFIT Cymru we will support you every step of the way. By taking small steps and making changes in your everyday life, you can make a big change to your body and mind. You don’t need to spend hours on the treadmill; you will not have to starve yourself every day – together we can change our way of life and inspire others to do the same.
“At the beginning of the year, our thoughts will turn to making resolutions and pledging to eat healthily and to do more exercise, especially after overindulging at Christmas. Now is the time to go for it!”
FFIT Cymru will be shown on S4C in April 2018. The series will be presented by Lisa Gwilym along with the team of experts; personal trainer from Penarth Rae Carpenter, a dietitian Sioned Quirke who lives in Pont-y-clun and psychologist Dr. Ioan Rees’s who lives in Pen Llŷn.
