Car parking charges to free up spaces
New changes to car parking at Llanelli Leisure Centre and Llanelli Bowls Club will come into force later this month.
The first three hours will be free of charge and anyone wishing to stay longer will need to pay.
All users of the car park must display a valid parking ticket on their vehicle and will be able to select ticket options at the pay and display machines.
The move will free up parking spaces and ensure leisure centre and bowls club users can enjoy the facilities. It will also prevent commuters taking up the spaces.
From Monday, January 22, anyone wishing to park in the standard bays will need to purchase a ticket from the parking meter. Up to four hours will cost £2 or £2.20 for all day.
Signage and notices are displayed around the car park which has 15 disabled bays and 119 standard bays.
The council’s executive board member for environment Cllr Hazel Evans said: “Introducing the new charges should ensure there is sufficient available parking for users of the leisure centre and bowls club. There is nothing more frustrating than our customers wishing to use these facilities and not being able to park due to commuters taken up the spaces.”
Taliadau parcio i ryddhau lleoedd parcio
Bydd newidiadau i barcio yng Nghanolfan Hamdden Llanelli ac yng Nghlwb Bowlio Llanelli yn dod i rym yn ddiweddarach y mis hwn.
Bydd y tair awr gyntaf am ddim a bydd angen i unrhyw un sy’n dymuno aros yn hirach dalu.
Bydd y newid hwn yn rhyddhau lleoedd parcio ac yn sicrhau bod pobl sy’n defnyddio’r ganolfan hamdden a’r clwb bowlio’n gallu mwynhau’r cyfleusterau. Bydd hyn hefyd yn atal cymudwyr rhag defnyddio’r holl leoedd parcio.
O ddydd Llun, 22 Ionawr, bydd angen i unrhyw un sy’n dymuno parcio yn y lleoedd safonol brynu tocyn o’r mesurydd parcio. Bydd hyd at bedair awr yn costio £2 neu £2.20 am y diwrnod cyfan.
Mae arwyddion a hysbysiadau wedi’u harddangos o amgylch y maes parcio sydd â 15 o leoedd parcio i’r anabl a 119 o leoedd parcio safonol.
Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Hazel Evans, yr Aelod o’r Bwrdd Gweithredol dros yr Amgylchedd: “Dylai cyflwyno’r taliadau newydd hyn sicrhau bod digon o leoedd parcio ar gael i’r bobl sy’n defnyddio’r ganolfan hamdden a’r clwb bowlio. Does dim byd yn fwy rhwystredig na bod ein cwsmeriaid yn dymuno defnyddio’r cyfleusterau hyn ond eu bod yn methu gwneud hynny oherwydd bod cymudwyr yn defnyddio’r holl leoedd parcio.”
