Blue bag deliveries continue

THOUSANDS of households have already received their three rolls of blue bags as deliveries continue throughout the county.

The decision to deliver blue bags to each household was made following resident feedback – people asked for blue bags to be more accessible to help them recycle more.

Crews are delivering to all households in Carmarthenshire and are due to complete deliveries by the end of February.

Anyone who has not received a delivery by the end of February is asked to contact the council’s customer services – people are advised not to worry if some households in their area, or friends and family, have already received their supply.

Households, such as large families, which may require additional rolls, can collect from 10 collection points allocated across the county, along with the mobile library service. The outlets are Carmarthen and Ammanford Customer Service Centres; the Hub in Llanelli; Coleshill cash desk Llanelli; Municipal Buildings Llandeilo; St Clears Leisure Centre; Newcastle Emlyn Library; Llandovery swimming pool; Ceredigion council offices in Lampeter and Llandysul library. People will no longer need to order bags online.

The council’s executive board member for environment, Cllr Hazel Evans, said: “This has been a massive undertaking in getting to over 86,000 households across the county and deliveries have taken longer than expected on this first delivery, but by doing this I hope that every home will find it easier to recycle more of their waste in their blue bags instead of sending it to landfill.

“By delivering blue bags to homes we are ensuring that everyone is equipped to recycle. Residents who found collecting bags from outlets awkward due to opening times or were unsure of where to collect more bags, can now rest assured that they will have an ample supply to recycle properly.”

There is no limit on the amount of blue recycling bags which can put out for collection. People are asked to rinse the items and place into the bags dry. All items that can be recycled from your home such as aerosol cans, foil, food and drinks cans, paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and pots can all be recycled in blue bags.

Dosbarthu bagiau glas yn parhau

MAE miloedd o aelwydydd eisoes wedi derbyn eu tri rolyn o fagiau glas ac mae’r dosbarthu’n parhau ledled y Sir.

Gwnaed y penderfyniad i ddosbarthu bagiau glas i bob aelwyd yn dilyn adborth gan breswylwyr.  Roedd pobl yn gofyn i fagiau glas fod yn fwy hygyrch er mwyn eu helpu nhw i ailgylchu mwy.

Mae criwiau’n dosbarthu bagiau glas i’r holl aelwydydd yn Sir Gaerfyrddin a disgwylir iddynt orffen y gwaith hwn erbyn diwedd mis Chwefror.

Gofynnir i unrhyw un sydd heb dderbyn bagiau glas erbyn diwedd Chwefror i gysylltu â gwasanaethau cwsmeriaid y Cyngor.  Cynghorir pobl i beidio â phoeni os oes rhai aelwydydd yn yr ardal, neu ffrindiau a theulu eisoes wedi derbyn eu cyflenwad.

Gall aelwydydd, megis teuluoedd mawr, a allai fod angen rholiau ychwanegol, gasglu bagiau o 10 man casglu ledled y Sir yn ogystal â’r gwasanaeth llyfrgelloedd teithiol.  Dyma’r llefydd casglu: Canolfannau Gwasanaethau Cwsmeriaid Caerfyrddin a Rhydaman; Yr Hwb yn Llanelli; Desg dalu Coleshill yn Llanelli; Adeiladau’r Cyngor, Llandeilo; Canolfan Hamdden Sanclêr; Llyfrgell Castellnewydd Emlyn; Pwll Nofio Llanymddyfri; Swyddfeydd Cyngor Ceredigion yn Llanbedr Pont Steffan a Llyfrgell Llandysul. Ni fydd angen i bobl archebu bagiau ar-lein mwyach.

Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Hazel Evans, yr Aelod o’r Bwrdd Gweithredol dros yr Amgylchedd: “Mae cyrraedd dros 86,000 o aelwydydd ledled y sir wedi bod yn dasg enfawr ac wedi cymryd mwy o amser na’r disgwyl ond drwy wneud hyn, rwy’n gobeithio y bydd yn haws i aelwydydd ailgylchu mwy o’u gwastraff yn eu bagiau glas yn hytrach nag anfon y gwastraff i safleoedd tirlenwi.

“Trwy ddosbarthu bagiau glas i gartrefi, rydym yn sicrhau bod pawb yn gallu ailgylchu. Gall preswylwyr a oedd o’r farn bod casglu bagiau glas o fannau casglu yn lletchwith yn sgil yr oriau agor neu’r rheiny a oedd yn ansicr ynghylch ble y dylid casglu rhagor o fagiau fod yn dawel eu meddwl y bydd ganddynt gyflenwad digonol o fagiau glas i ailgylchu’n briodol.

Nid oes terfyn ar nifer y bagiau ailgylchu glas sy’n gallu cael eu rhoi allan i’w casglu. Gofynnir i bobl olchi’r eitemau a sicrhau eu bod yn sych cyn eu rhoi yn y bagiau.  Gall yr holl eitemau sy’n gallu cael eu hailgylchu o’ch cartref megis caniau erosol, ffoil, caniau diod a bwyd, papur, cardbord, poteli plastig a photiau gael eu rhoi mewn bagiau glas i’w hailgylchu.
