PROFILE

Dan has previously played for both the North Wales Origin and Wales Students side thanks to his heritage qualification. He will be making his second visit to Australia in the space of a year after playing in the 2017 Student World Cup. Born and brought up in Ulverston in the South Lakeland district of Cumbria, England, he played for his school, Ulverston Victoria High School, in the Champion Schools competition, as well as his local club side from under 8s right up to senior level. In between, he’s also turned out for Nottingham Outlaws when they won Conference League South, Nottingham University who he helped to win the Midlands and BUCS Trophy titles for two years in a row, Midlands Students, Barrow and District schools, and the Cumbrian schools rep sides.

PROFILE

Paul played in the 2014 Commonwealth Championships after only a handful of rugby league games under his belt. Brought up in rugby union with Rhigos, he came through youth teams and made appearances in the first team there as well as for Glynneath, Bridgend Ravens and more recently Abercwmboi. He also played a full season for Neath Port Talbot College in the WRU College league. Joining South Wales Scorpions in May 2014, Paul played for the under 19s before making his first team debut that year. He made 28 appearances for the club, scoring four tries. He was also a Wales under 18 international. Paul will stay in Australia following the tournament and will look to sign for a new club down under.
