PROFILE
Liam Silver was brought up playing rugby union in the Gwent valleys for New Panteg youth, also playing for Gwent District youth. He started playing rugby league aged 15, turning out for Torfaen Tigers and Wales under 16. He is now in Torfaen Tigers’ first team and also played for the South Wales Scorpions development side. He continues to also play rugby union during the winter months, turning out for Blaenavon and more recently Croesyceiliog.

PROFILE
A product of Bargoed RFC rugby union from age 7, he is still on their books, now in the first team, making his first appearance aged 18. He was also on Newport Gwent Dragons RU books turning out for their under 16 and 18 sides. He started playing Rugby league at Heolddu Comprehensive School in Champion Schools where he was asked to come to an open trial by former Wales international Aled James, then played for Wales under 16 in the same year. He eventually went on to be capped for Wales at 18s, 19s and Dragonhearts levels. He played at youth level for both South Wales Scorpions and Torfaen Tigers and is now a regular in the Tigers side, making one appearance in the Scorpions’ first team in 2016.
