Celebration of language skills
AS we get ready to celebrate all things Welsh this week for St David’s Day, don’t forget that you can contact Carmarthenshire County Council in the language of your choice through a number of different ways.
Whether learning the language or a fluent Welsh speaker, residents in the county can feel happy to approach the council in whichever way they want – from phoning, emailing, writing or by going on-line.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s executive board member responsible for the Welsh language, Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths said: “Using the Welsh language on a daily basis is key to its prosperity. I’d like to encourage our customers who access our services to use their language skills, whatever their current level and also remind our Welsh language learners that they are welcome to converse with us and to practise their learning. This also supports the Welsh Government’s vision of a million Welsh speakers by 2050 and highlights that everyone has a part to play in realising this vision.”
During the week, members of staff will also feature on Carmarthenshire County Council’s social media sites, in order to encourage customers who contact the authority for a wide range of services to celebrate the skills and local dialects that it holds in its workforce.

Dathlu sgiliau iaith
WRTH inni baratoi i ddathlu Cymreictod yr wythnos hon ar gyfer Dydd Gŵyl Dewi, cofiwch y gallwch gysylltu â Chyngor Sir Caerfyrddin yn eich dewis iaith drwy nifer o ffyrdd gwahanol.
P’un a ydynt yn dysgu’r iaith neu’n siaradwyr Cymraeg rhugl, gall trigolion y Sir siarad â’r Cyngor ym mha ffordd bynnag y dymunant – o ffonio, anfon e-bost, ysgrifennu neu fynd ar-lein.
Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Peter Hughes Griffiths, yr Aelod o Fwrdd Gweithredol Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin sy’n gyfrifol am yr iaith Gymraeg: “Mae defnyddio’r Gymraeg bob dydd yn allweddol i’w ffyniant. Hoffwn annog ein cwsmeriaid sy’n defnyddio ein gwasanaethau i ddefnyddio eu sgiliau iaith, beth bynnag fo’u lefel bresennol, a hefyd atgoffa ein dysgwyr Cymraeg bod croeso iddyn nhw sgwrsio â ni ac ymarfer. Mae hyn hefyd yn cefnogi gweledigaeth Llywodraeth Cymru i gael miliwn o siaradwyr Cymraeg erbyn 2050 ac yn pwysleisio bod gan bawb gyfraniad i’w wneud o ran gwireddu’r weledigaeth hon.”
Yn ystod yr wythnos, bydd aelodau o staff hefyd yn rhan o safleoedd cyfryngau cymdeithasol Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin, er mwyn annog cwsmeriaid sy’n cysylltu â’r awdurdod ar gyfer amrywiaeth eang o wasanaethau i ddathlu sgiliau a thafodieithoedd lleol ei weithlu.
