Winter Wellbeing Workshops

GET the chance to go on a creative journey for free in March.

Carmarthenshire Museums has organised Winter Wellbeing Workshops in Parc Howard from March 15-18.

The workshops, taken by artists Cheryl Beer and Louise Bird, will draw participants on a creative journey at their own pace, to discover, explore and make.

Organised to celebrate National Museums and Wellbeing Week, the Winter Wellbeing Workshops are free of charge, open to all and no previous experience is necessary.

Museums & Wellbeing Week is coordinated by the National Alliance of Museums, Health and Wellbeing, to raise the profile of the well-documented health benefits of visiting museums, engaging in culture and being creative.

Parc Howard has historical associations with health and wellbeing, serving as a Red Cross Auxiliary Hospital from 1915 and later as a rehabilitation centre until 1924, an ideal location for quiet rest and healing.

Executive board member responsible for leisure, Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths, said: “Parc Howard is an ideal place to hold creative workshops such as these, with its beautiful location providing inspiration to those taking part.”

Each Winter Wellbeing Workshop runs from 11am – 4pm. To book your place, contact Carmarthenshire Museums on 01267 228696 or email museums@carmarthenshire.gov.uk

Gweithdai Llesiant y Gaeaf

CYFLE i fynd ar daith greadigol am ddim ym mis Mawrth.

Mae Amgueddfeydd Sir Gaerfyrddin wedi trefnu Gweithdai Llesiant y Gaeaf ym Mharc Howard rhwng 15 Mawrth a 18 Mawrth.

Bydd y gweithdai, a fydd yn cael eu cymryd gan yr artistiaid Cheryl Beer a Louise Bird, yn tywys y cyfranogwyr ar daith greadigol ar eu cyflymder eu hun.

Mae’r Gweithdai Llesiant wedi’u trefnu i ddathlu Wythnos Genedlaethol Amgueddfeydd a Llesiant, ac maent am ddim, yn agored i bawb ac nid oes angen dim profiad blaenorol.

Mae Wythnos Amgueddfeydd a Llesiant yn cael ei chydgysylltu gan Gynghrair Genedlaethol Amgueddfeydd, Iechyd a Llesiant, er mwyn amlygu’r manteision iechyd sydd ynghlwm wrth ymweld ag amgueddfeydd, ymgysylltu â diwylliant a bod yn greadigol.

Mae gan Barc Howard gysylltiadau hanesyddol ag iechyd a llesiant, gan y bu’n safle Ysbyty’r Groes Goch o 1915. Yn ddiweddarach bu’n ganolfan adsefydlu hyd at 1924 gan ei fod yn fan delfrydol i bobl wella a chael hoe mewn heddwch.

Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Peter Hughes Griffiths, yr Aelod o’r Bwrdd Gweithredol sydd â chyfrifoldeb dros hamdden: “Mae Parc Howard yn lle delfrydol i gynnal gweithdai creadigol fel y rhain, gan fod ei leoliad hardd yn ysbrydoliaeth i’r rheiny sy’n cymryd rhan.”

Mae pob Gweithdy Llesiant y Gaeaf yn rhedeg o 11am tan 4pm. I neilltuo lle, cysylltwch ag Amgueddfeydd Sir Gaerfyrddin drwy ffonio 01267 228696 neu drwy anfon e-bost at amgueddfeydd@sirgar.gov.uk
