Charity golf day to raise funds for Breast Care Unit

THE Leader of Carmarthenshire County Council is on a drive to raise money for a cause close to his heart.

Cllr Emlyn Dole will tee off an inaugural charity golf day at Pembrey’s Ashburnham Golf Club on Friday, April 13, hoping to raise at least £1,000 for Prince Philip Hospital’s Breast Care Unit.

He said he owes the unit a ‘personal debt’ after staff cared for his wife Gwenda through her successful battle with breast cancer.

He is inviting people to enter teams of four, with competitions, raffles and an auction to help fundraise for the cause.

“Since becoming Leader I have made an annual effort to raise money for good causes,” he said.

“This golf day will be a fun way of raising money for the Breast Care Unit, to which I owe a personal debt because of the care they gave my wife, and to acknowledge the work that they do across that unit.

“The Golf Day is an open event, we’re geared up for 20 teams of four, with competitions, raffle and auctions throughout the day.

“Hopefully this will raise money for the excellent work they do.”

MAE Arweinydd Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin ar ymgyrch i godi arian ar gyfer achos sy’n bwysig iawn iddo.

Bydd y Cynghorydd Emlyn Dole yn cychwyn y diwrnod golff elusennol gyntaf yng Nghlwb Golff Ashburnham, Pen-bre Ddydd Gwener 13 Ebrill, gan obeithio codi o leiaf £1,000 ar gyfer Uned Gofal y Fron yn Ysbyty’r Tywysog Philip.

Dywedodd ei fod mewn dyled bersonol i’r uned, ar ôl i’r staff ofalu am ei wraig, Gwenda, yn ystod ei brwydr lwyddiannus yn erbyn canser y fron.

Mae’n gwahodd pobl i gymryd rhan mewn timoedd o bedwar, a chaiff cystadlaethau, raffl ac ocsiwn eu cynnal i helpu i godi arian ar gyfer yr achos.

“Ers dod yn Arweinydd, rwyf wedi ymdrechu bob blwyddyn i godi arian ar gyfer achosion da” meddai.

“Bydd y diwrnod golff hwn yn ffordd hwyliog o godi arian ar gyfer Uned Gofal y Fron, sef uned yr wyf mewn dyled bersonol iddi oherwydd y gofal a dderbyniodd fy ngwraig, ac er mwyn cydnabod y gwaith y maen nhw’n ei wneud yn yr uned honno.

“Mae’r Diwrnod Golff yn ddigwyddiad agored, rydym yn paratoi ar gyfer 20 tîm o bedwar, a bydd cystadlaethau, raffl ac ocsiynau yn cael eu cynnal drwy gydol y dydd.

“Rwy’n gobeithio y bydd hyn yn codi arian ar gyfer y gwaith gwych y maen nhw’n ei wneud.”
