• £73,000 raised for charities since 2005
• Over £5,000 raised for Action for Children in Neath Port Talbot
The Naval Ladies Coffee Afternoon group from Port Talbot have held their final charity presentation evening raising over £1,300 for Action for Children’s NPT Swansea community short breaks service.
Since the Naval Ladies got together in 2005, they have raised a staggering £73,000 for many charities such as Port Talbot Lifeboats, Air Ambulance Wales and Epilepsy Wales with Action for Children alone benefitting to the tune of over £5,000 in that time.
Caroline Lewis, Practice Manager for NPT Swansea Community Short Breaks, said: ‘These ladies are amazing and have been so supportive over the years. To have the Naval Ladies choose our community short breaks service for their last presentation is a huge honour and recognises the great work we do in the community.’
NPT Swansea Community Short Breaks provides support to children and young people with disabilities. This includes support to access community based activities in small groups, activities at the project base or caring for a child in their own home (domiciliary care).
The service also provides short breaks in link carers home and works in conjunction with our local authorities to provide an outcome focused service to children and young people.
Caroline added: ‘Our sessions are aimed at providing a fun and safe environment, whilst working towards individual targets and achievements. It is wonderful to have such brilliant support and we can’t thank the Naval Ladies enough.’
