Action for Children benefits from egg-cellent idea

• 8 yr old Kian has idea to collect Easter eggs for less fortunate children
• Triples target of 100 Easter Eggs set for young carers and family groups

A wonderfully kind-hearted 8-year-old boy from Bangor, Kian Jeffreys has seen his idea of collecting 100 Easter eggs for less fortunate children exceed his wildest expectations.
 

  Kian told his mother of the idea and they set what they thought was a tough target of 100 eggs. The kindness of people should never be underestimated however and Kian was thrilled with trebling their total. Friends, family and local organisations helped Kian, brother Jack and mum, Donna Jeffreys with the collection.

Donna said: “We’re all very grateful to everyone who has donated, we never expected it to be so successful, from such a simple idea initially. Kian and Jack are already making plans for next year!’

Maria Bulkeley, service team leader for Action for Children’s Ynys Mon & Gwynedd Young Carers said: ‘It was so generous of Kian to think of other children and their families at this time of year. In collecting 300 Easter eggs, she has made a huge difference to a lot of people including our Ynys Mon and Gwynedd young carers.

‘We are very grateful to Kian and his family as well as everyone else who donated Easter eggs and gave a holiday treat to those in the community who need it most.’
