The House of Lords Communications Committee will publish its report UK advertising in a digital age on Wednesday 11 April.
The Committee have examined the future of the UK advertising industry and how policies and practices might help the industry to maintain its pre-eminent position. In its report, the Committee explore the changing face of internet advertising; the skills and workforce that are needed to help the industry thrive; how it can maintain access to international talent after Brexit; and how diversity can be improved across the industry.
Over the course of the inquiry, the Committee head evidence from Google and Facebook on the role their businesses play in the value chain of the digital advertising market, as well as Government Ministers including Matt Hancock MP, Minister of State for Digital, Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. The Committee also questioned Sir Martin Sorrell, Chief Executive Officer of world-leading advertising company WPP and social media influencer Beckii Cruel.
