Noise Action Week
COUNCIL environmental health officers will be out and about in the county raising awareness of excessive dog barking as part of Noise Action Week (May 21-26).
Excessive dog barking is the number one noise complaint dealt with by Carmarthenshire County Council’s environmental health team.
Officers will be visiting attractions popular with dog owners to raise awareness of the issue and handing out leaflets about what can be done to help minimise dog barking.
This week officers will be at:
Parc y Bocs Farm Shop, Kidwelly, Thursday, May 24 from 2pm-4pm
Llansteffan Beach, Friday, May 25, from 9am to 11am.
Executive board member responsible for public protection, Cllr Philip Hughes, said: “Excessive dog barking is our number one noise complaint, in terms of volume, so as part of Noise Action Week our officers will be out raising awareness amongst dog walkers and owners of the problems excessive dog barking can cause.”
The council has a team of officers, who have recognised specialist qualifications in the field of acoustics and noise control, who deal with around 900 noise complaints every year.
More information on dog barking and how to make a complaint can be found on the environmental health pages on Carmarthenshire County Council’s website www.carmarthenshire.gov.wales
Wythnos Atal Sŵn
FEL rhan o Wythnos Atal Sŵn (21-26 Mai), bydd swyddogion iechyd yr amgylchedd y Cyngor yn mynd o amgylch y sir i godi ymwybyddiaeth o gŵn yn cyfarth yn ormodol.
Cŵn sy’n cyfarth yn ormodol yw’r gŵyn y mae tîm iechyd yr amgylchedd Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin yn ymdrin â hi fwyaf.
Bydd y swyddogion yn ymweld â lleoedd sy’n boblogaidd ymhlith perchnogion cŵn er mwyn codi ymwybyddiaeth o’r mater a dosbarthu taflennu am yr hyn y gellir ei wneud i helpu i gael cŵn i gyfarth cyn lleied â phosibl. Dyma lle gallwch weld y swyddogion yr wythnos hon:
Siop Fferm Parc y Bocs, Cydweli, Dydd Iau 24 Mai, rhwng 2pm a 4pm
Traeth Llansteffan, Dydd Gwener 25 Mai, rhwng 9am a 11am.
Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Philip Hughes, Aelod o Fwrdd Gweithredol y Cyngor dros Ddiogelu’r Cyhoedd: “Cŵn sy’n cyfarth yn ormodol yw’r gŵyn fwyaf sy’n dod i law ynghylch sŵn, o ran niferoedd. Felly fel rhan o Wythnos Atal Sŵn, bydd ein swyddogion yn mynd allan i godi ymwybyddiaeth o’r problemau yn sgil cŵn yn cyfarth yn ormodol ymhlith y rhai sy’n cerdded â chŵn a pherchnogion.”
