Walking in to the cinema to watch ‘Ocean’s 8,’ I didn’t really know much about what I was going to watch. In fact, I thought this was just going to be a reboot of ‘Ocean’s Eleven,’ which is unfortunate, because it’s one of my favourite crime movies. What I didn’t realise was that this film is adding to the Ocean’s franchise. It turns out Debbie Ocean played by Sandra Bullock is the sister of Danny Ocean portrayed by George Clooney in ‘Ocean’s Eleven.’ So, it got me aroused because I didn’t even think about how crime runs in the Ocean family, which makes me realise just how dumb I actually am!

This film does have a bit of a slow start to it, but it makes up for it with a well thought out story and a twist, and with  big named actors such as Cate Blanchet, Ann Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter. I personally found it refreshing to see an all-female cast in a heist movie and featuring James Cordon who’s always charmingly funny. And, it was nice to see a few cameos from some of the original Ocean’s team. I give this movie 8 out of ten.
