The dwindling population of wild bees and other pollinators in the UK poses a serious threat to the UK food industry. These insects play a vital role in UK agriculture by pollinating many of the crops we eat on a daily basis, as well as some of the food our livestock depend on. A group of six dairy farmers who are members of the Calon Wen Milk Co-operative, along with representatives from the BumblebeeConservationTrustandRSPBare aiming to boost pollinator numbers on their farms through a unique and exciting 3 year EIP Walesproject. Thesixfarms willevaluatetheeffectsofusingspecialistseedmixturesfromCotswoldSeeds,leavinguncut field strips, and delaying grazing to see how this will affect pollinatorpopulations.

This project has alreadygenerated huge interest throughout the UK and Europe. This eventisanopportunityforthepress,farmers,researchorganisationandotherinterested parties to find out more about this unique project, and meet the people involved in theproject.
