Man Accused of Affray And Possession Of Steel Extendable Baton In A Public Place
A Burry Port man appeared in Llanelli Law Courts today (July 19) accused of affray against another person and possession of an offensive weapon, namely an extendable steel baton in a public place. The alleged offences were said to have taken place in Kidwelly on June 16 of this year.
Timothy Alun Bodell, age 29 of Danlan Road Pembrey, Burry Port indicated no plea to both of the offences put forward to him.
Sian Vaughan prosecuting stated that the case was not suitable for a summary trial.
District Judge Christopher James concluded that the case was clearly beyond his sentencing powers and sent Bodell’s case to Swansea Crown Court for his trial on August 20. He was released on unconditional bail with conditions attached which are not to enter Kidwelly, not to contact prosecution witnesses and to sleep each night at his residential address.
