SUPERPRIX of WALES

Wednesday 25th July 2018 sees the launch of the spectacular and dynamic Superprix of Wales. This event will run in 2019 over the weekend of the 7th to the 9th June  and is a ‘World First’, a unique fusion of Rugby Union and the very best of British Motorsport.

 After many months of planning we can today announce that the most varied and exciting extravaganza of motorsport will be coming to Parc Y Scarlets next year.

 Parc Y Scarlets is the home of Scarlets Rugby, 2017 Guinness Pro12 Champions.

  We will be running a wide collection of racing machinery ranging from Formula 1 to Le Mans cars, from British Touring cars to World Rally cars, from the now banded Group B rally cars to the early and dangerous F1 championship cars of the past. They will be joined by a variety of drivers, from stars of the future to British European and even previous World Champions. We are even bringing along the incredible and crazy stunt driver Terry Grant and his team.

Never before has such an incredible collection of machinery visited South Wales; never before has such an iconic collection of equipment and drivers performed in and around such an incredible Rugby Union Stadium anywhere in the World.

This unique event could not have been put together without the forward thinking team of people here at the stadium and the promoter and retired international driver Tim Matthews from Superprix Promotions. He made the following statement.

” This event is the culmination of a number of years hard work and planning. It gives the people of South Wales a unique opportunity to see, hear, smell and get up close to a collection of racing equipment never previously assembled together in this region. To be able to run these machines in and around Parc Y Scarlets is fantastic and gives spectators an incredible opportunity to sit in comfort and watch the action with use of all the facilities on offer.”

It will be a great event for the spectators, a fun event and something novel for the drivers and I hope the beginning of an annual event for us all.”

For you, for your children, this will be your chance to understand the incredible buzz that motorsport creates and in many people, the desire to race.

All of the drivers in this event have a story to tell with many driving iconic race cars from the past. Many are worth millions of pounds. All are incredibly powerful. Every one of these drivers is a hero. Someone who has committed time, money and effort into making the pedigree of British Motorsport the best in the World.

Amongst them are competitors who have raced in the F1 World Championships, who have raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and who have raced in numerous International Championships around the world. There are British Champions, European Champions and you may even spot the odd World Champion.

The collection of machinery will range from F1 to Le Mans, from British Touring Cars to the World Rally Championships, from cars being built and raced to day, to the frightening and dangerous Group B Rally Cars of the past. The Superprix of Wales will be a spectacular celebration of the very best of British Motorsport. To find out more come and join us.

You will have a unique opportunity at various times to wander through the paddock getting up close to the cars and talking to the mechanics. There will be driver parades and autograph signing sessions. There will be photographs to collect, selfies to take with the cars, drivers and the promotional girls. There will be a wide collection of great food and drink all creating an atmosphere like no other.

Sensational cars, incredible sounds, amazing smells, beautiful people, welcome to the elite world of motorsport. Its coming here to South Wales, to Llanelli and to the stunning Parc Y Scarlets.

You can collect a beautiful souvenir program of the event containing pictures of all the drivers and their cars. We’ve even left you an autograph space for every driver and three signed programs will be auctioned for charity at the end of the event.

For some of you the number on your ticket will be selected at random and you or one of your chosen friends or family will be given the chance to sit alongside one of our professional drivers for an adrenalin filled lap of the stadium circuit. It really is that simple, just buy a ticket, but if you feel the experience will be too much for you, I’m sure you will find people queuing up to fill your seat.

The event will be run over three days on the second weekend of June 2019.

The circuit itself will be constructed in and around the fabulous Parc Y Scarlets Rugby Union Stadium. As part of the event there will be an exclusive Motor Show in the Scarlets Training Barn. This will be open to the public throughout the weekend and will contain a selection of the latest new cars on offer from the major manufacturers.

The Most Exclusive Motorsport Club in the World

Drivers and their stunning machinery will attend purely by invitation. They will be invited based on their racing pedigree or that of their racing machinery. In addition to the honour of invitation they will be awarded an exclusive membership of the Scarlets Motorsport Members Club, a group of rare individuals who will compete in the 2019 Superprix of Wales in and around the Parc Y Scarlets Rugby Union Stadium.

“Tickets will be strictly limited and will start from as little as £10 per head on the Friday during Practice £30 for a family of four [two adults and two children under fourteen] to a VIP Platinum ticket for the Saturday night at £30 and £70 for a family of four.”
