Come Dine with Paolo!

My name is Paolo Piana and I currently reside in Llanelli. My passions have to be travelling and food! I love to combine my travels with learning new recipes and trying out the cuisine of the places that I’ve visited.

My family originate from Piedmont in Northern Italy and for many generations they’ve been in the restaurant and hospitality sectors. Before leaving London for Llanelli I owned a catering business in the busy commuter town of Greenford.

Since coming to Llanelli I’ve shared my passion of food through running community classes, these have included ‘Chefalicious’ which was a course for young chefs. I’ve also ran events called “Come Dine With Paolo” by bringing together communities to learn new dishes, learn about the culture and history of the area that the dishes come from, whilst teaching people how to prepare and cook tasty food.

In times when a lot of people are struggling financially, I’m keen to show how tasty, fun, nutritious, healthy meals can be cooked on a budget. It’s vital for people I feel to have a connection with the food they eat and understand how it’s sourced and grown.

I’m delighted to have taken up the offer with The West Wales Chronicle to share my recipes, news of travels and food ideas plus tips in a monthly column for you all. I look forward to sharing my experiences with you. Watch this space!
