Teen Titans: Go to the Movies Review. By Adam Roberts

Okay so as I understand it, there’s a TV series called Teen Titans.

Before I saw this film the other day, I had no idea that this show existed. So, I didn’t really know what to expect. Yes, I saw the trailer, but that’s really all the information I had to go on. In fact, all I knew was that the voice of Superman was to be done by none other than the one and only Nicolas Cage. In fact, that’s the only reason why I went to go see this flick in the first place.

Some of you may not know that there was going to be a Superman movie back in 1998 named Superman Lives. Nicolas Cage was actually lined up to don the cape himself.

If you don’t believe me just look at the picture below! There’s even a documentary on it. It’s called The Death of Superman Lives featuring Kevin Smith who was actually hired to write the script.

Yeah It was going to be a Superman we’d never seen before. (A very different Superman) way different than that dreadful Superman Returns film… very… very dreadful. But unfortunately, it bottomed out, and the movie never got to the set for filming as I recall. Anyway, I kind of felt it was owed to Nicolas that people go see Teen Titans as this is very likely to be the closest he will ever get to play the last son of Krypton… But I digress.

I really enjoyed watching Superman with that Nicolas Cage voice. He seemed quite kooky and it feltquite fitting for this particular kind of film. Other than being on the Kooky side, a lot of the film felt very hectic. There was too much happening mostly all at once, almost the majority if the time in fact. There were a lot of musical numbers which I didn’t expect to happen. And there were things I pretty much took issue with. For instance, Cyborg in this is a member of the Titans. Why would he be a member of this particular group? He’s always been a member of the Justice League! And Star-Fire? as I recall, her role was like a teacher for the Teen Titans if I remember correctly… but I suppose this film is built upon after a TV series made for children so, I guess I can overlook it’s (minor lapses) … and major ones too.

The only character I enjoyed other than Superman, was Deathstroke voiced by Will Arnett. You may remember him voicing for Batman in the Batman Lego Movie. But anyway, I did get a laugh here and there, with his powers of (MIND MANIPULATON) !!!!!!!!and always being mistaken for Deadpool.

 Will Arnett

Did you know that Deathstroke was actually the inspiration for Deadpool?

Bet you didn’t!

Anyway, I don’t remember mind manipulation being a power I recall him having. As I remember he’s always been an assassin for hire. But like I said… it made for children. In any case, looking at this as an adult I’d have to give this film a pore 6 out of 10. But looking back when I was a child I would’ve definitely said 10 out of 10. I was kind of into this kind of stuff back then… even as a young teen.

Anyway, thanks for reading and if you go to see Teen Titans go to the Movies, I hope you have fun.
