A dreadful start from the Swans last Saturday (August 25) saw them go a goal down in the first 30 seconds of the game with Bristol City’s top marksman Andreas Weimann steering the ball into the net.

Bristol City pressed the Swans all over the pitch and were well on top in this game held in Liberty Stadium

Swans coaching team with Manager Graham Potter were looking for ways in their formation to halt the onslaught of their visitors and if it wasn’t for the Swans goalkeeper Erwin Mulder who pulled off a couple of fine saves in the first half of the game then the scoreline could have been a lot worse.
The half ended with Bristol City cruising to an away win.

Things had to change and Jefferson Montero and Matt Grimes came on for the ineffective Tom Carroll and Joel Asoro to start the second half.
The desired changes didn’t have the immediate impact that was required and it was Bristol City who kept up their momentum.
With 70 minutes on the clock the Swans introduced their club captain Leroy Fer into the action and it led to Swans striker Oli McBurnie being withdrawn to the home crowd surprise.
The Swans stepped up their game and for the first time in this contest had the visitors on the back foot.
However hard the Swans tried they could not penetrate the visitors defence and it was Bristol again who looked dangerous on the counter attack.
With 5 minutes added time at the end of the game, the visitors managed to see the game out and claim a deserved away win much to the joy of the visiting support.
The Swans supporters were left to reflect on whether or not the board will now strengthen Potters young squad before the loan period deadline ends and possibly look to the January transfer window for more additions.
The ball is firmly with the board to back their team.
A disappointing day at the Liberty for Swans supporters in contrast to the midweek performance against promotion favourites Leeds United.
Final score: Swansea City 0
                      Bristol City 1
