Carmarthenshire Rural Affairs Conference

A CONFERENCE considering the issues effecting rural communities will take place in Carmarthenshire next week.

Carmarthenshire Rural Affairs Conference is part of the process to shape future policies and to inform about the work of the Rural Affairs Task Group, established by Carmarthenshire County Council.

The conference takes place on Friday, September 7 from 9.15am until 4pm at the Halliwell Centre, University of Wales Trinity Saint David in Carmarthen.

During the event there will an opportunity to further consider issues raised by partners and through the consultation to date; also to identify actions the council, in partnership with other public bodies and organisations, can take in addressing those issues to support rural regeneration in future years.

Key note speakers at the conference will be:

• Cllr Cefin Campbell, Carmarthenshire County Council Executive Board Member for Rural Affairs and Communities
• Professor Janet Dwyer, University of Gloucestershire
• Gerallt Llywelyn Jones, former Managing Director of Menter Môn
• Aled Rhys Jones, Chartered Surveyor, Nuffield Farming Scholar and radio presenter

Workshops will cover a number of topics, including entrepreneurship, agriculture, infrastructure & services, environment & well-being and visitor economy.

Cllr Cefin Campbell, executive board member responsible for rural affairs and communities said: “This will be a great opportunity for those who live in rural Carmarthenshire to come along and have their say. By attending this event residents or those working in the county can be part of a discussion with specialists from different sectors, these discussions will then feed into our future strategies. The Group would like to thank all those who have contributed to the discussions to date but we would urge people to come along to the conference as their attendance will play an important part in shaping the policies for the future.”

CYNHELIR cynhadledd i ystyried y materion sy’n effeithio ar gymunedau gwledig yn Sir Gâr yr wythnos nesaf.

Mae Cynhadledd Materion Gwledig Sir Gâr yn rhan o’r broses o lunio polisïau at y dyfodol ac o lywio gwaith y Gweithgor Materion Gwledig, a sefydlwyd gan Gyngor Sir Caerfyrddin.

Cynhelir y gynhadledd ar ddydd Gwener, 7 Medi o 9.15 y bore tan 4 y prynhawn yng Nghanolfan Halliwell, Prifysgol Cymru Y Drindod Dewi Sant yng Nghaerfyrddin.

Yn ystod y digwyddiad bydd cyfle i ystyried ymhellach faterion a godwyd gan bartneriaid a thrwy’r ymgynghoriad hyd yn hyn; hefyd i nodi camau y gall y cyngor, mewn partneriaeth â chyrff cyhoeddus a sefydliadau eraill, eu gweithredu er mwyn cefnogi adfywio gwledig yn y dyfodol.

Mae’r siaradwyr gwadd yn y gynhadledd yn cynnwys:

Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Cefin Campbell, aelod o’r bwrdd gweithredol sy’n gyfrifol am faterion gwledig a chymunedau: “Bydd hwn yn gyfle gwych i’r rhai sy’n byw yng nghefn gwlad Sir Gâr ddod i ddweud eu dweud. Trwy fynychu’r digwyddiad hwn gall preswylwyr neu’r rhai sy’n gweithio yn y sir fod yn rhan o drafodaeth gydag arbenigwyr o wahanol sectorau, yna bydd y trafodaethau hyn yn bwydo i’n strategaethau at y dyfodol. Hoffai’r Grŵp ddiolch i bawb sydd wedi cyfrannu at y trafodaethau hyd yn hyn ond fe fyddem yn annog pobl i ddod i’r gynhadledd gan y bydd eu presenoldeb yn chwarae rhan bwysig wrth lunio polisïau ar gyfer y dyfodol. ”
