Welsh traditional band Allan Yn Y Fan will be celebrating their 22nd year on the road with the release of their first single in September, followed by a major European tour in the Autumn.
The single, to be released on the Steam Pie label, consists of two tracks âYm Mhontypriddâ and âGorthrwm y Gweithiwrâ. The latter, which the band believes to be the first ever recording of the song, refers to the struggles of the workers, versus their Beaufort, Ebbw Vale ironmasters in mid 19th century Wales.
Both tour print and CD single feature the band in front of William Edwardâs iconic single arch bridge crossing the River Taff in Pontypridd. Built in 1756, it was for 40 years Britainâs longest single span bridge.
The title of the tour is also inspired by the musical bridges that supporters of the band have enabled them to build over the decades, reflected by returns to Luxembourg, Spiegelberg, Ystradgynlais and Abertyleri.
The band is also mindful of the Welsh proverb âA Fo Ben Bid Bontâ â which could be translated as âIf you want to be a leader, be a bridge.â A possible interpretation of which is to become a leader, you must help others achieve their aimsâŚ.!
Allan Yn Y Fan is especially pleased on this tour to be paying first visits to Papenburg where they will perform the first concert in the newly restored Altei Droste venue; a premiere concert in the Studio Theatre of Dresdenâs Staatsschauspiel; plus first visits to Llanelli, Oswestry and Llanidloes.
âYm Mhontypridd/Gorthrwm Y Gweithiwrâ is released on 7th September.

TAITH PONTYDD NID MURIAU/RHYDDHAU SENGL HYDREF 2018
Â
Bydd y band traddodiadol Cymreig Allan Yn Y Fan yn dathlu eu 22ain blwyddyn ar y ffordd gyda rhyddhau eu sengl gyntaf ym mis Medi, gyda thaith Ewropeaidd fawr i ddilyn yn yr Hydref.
Mae dau drac ar y sengl, a gyhoeddir ar label Steam Pie, sef “Ym Mhontypridd” a “Gorthrwm y Gweithiwr”. Mae’r band yn credu mai hwn yw’r recordiad cyntaf erioed o gân “Gorthrwm y Gweithiwr” sy’n cyfeirio ar frwydrau gweithwyr yn erbyn meistri haearn Beaufort, Glynebwy yng nghanol y 19eg ganrif.
Mae cyhoeddiadau’r daith a’r sengl CD yn dangos y band o flaen pont un cwmpas eiconig William Edwards dros yr Afon Taf ym Mhontypridd. Wedi’i chodi yn 1756, hi oedd am 40 mlynedd y bont un cwmpas fwyaf ym Mhrydain.
Caiff teitl y daith hefyd ei ysbrydoli gan y pontydd cerddorol y mae cefnogwyr y band wedi eu galluogi i’w codi dros y degawdau, a adlewyrchir gan ddychwelyd i Lwcsembwrg, Spiegelberg, Ystradgynaiais ac Abertyleri.
Mae’r ddihareb “A Fo Ben Bid Bont” hefyd yn flaenllaw m meddyliau’r band.
Mae Allan Yn Y Fan yn arbennig o falch i fod yn ymweld am y tro cyntaf ar y daith hon â Papenburg lle byddant yn perfformio’r cyngerdd cyntaf yn safle Altei Droste sydd newidd ei adfer; cyngerdd premiere yn Theatr Siwdio Staatsschauspiel yn Dresden, ynghyd ag ymweliadau cyntaf  i Lanelli, Croesoswallt a Llanidloes.
Cyhoeddir “Ym Mhontypridd/Gorthrwm y Gweithiwr” ar 7 Medi.
