Further half chances followed, but as the game progressed it was Newport City who stood their ground and put in some well timed tackles.
The visitors were dealt a major blow after a quarter of an hour, when the Newport City central defender Andrew Muscat had to leave the field with a nasty facial injury and was unable to continue.
The game continued with neither side able to assert themselves and it proved to be a stalemate at the half time break

The second half got underway with Cwmamman starting to apply the early pressure.

The goal eased the tensions of the home crowd and the Cwm players.
Cwmamman were now able to manage the game at their own pace.
With 81 minutes gone, a second yellow card resulted for Newport City player Patrick Pope and the visitors found themselves down to ten men.

So get there early!
