“We are so enthusiastic at creating positive opportunities for these young Cadets. Although set within the umbrella of Dyfed Powys Police it is not a recruitment drive for the Police Service. The aims are geared to steer young people away from a life of crime by creating opportunities for them to flourish along the right path in life” explained Unit leader PC Vanessa Price – a serving police officer with Dyfed Powys at Police HQ in Carmarthen.
The new cadet unit are meeting weekly in the Drill Hall, TA Centre at Murray Street, Llanelli.
Lee Waters said:
“It was lovely to meet the first recruits and I hope it thrives. It’s a great opportunity for teenagers to get involved in an activity that as well as being fun will also give them insights into wider society”
