Swansea City vs QPR Championship Football (September 29)
A beautiful sunny afternoon at the Liberty Stadium (September 29) saw the return of Swans favourite Angel Rangel who enjoyed warm applause from Swans fans during the commencement of the game.
QPR started well and captain Massimo Luongo must have thought he had given his team the lead but his strike on goal went narrowly wide.
It was however the Swans who opened the scoring in the fifteenth minute as a cross into the QPR penalty area was met by Swans striker Oli McBurnie who headed the ball back across the six yard box for Courtney Baker-Richards to convert the chance and give the Swans the lead 1-0.
Two minutes later after some neat intricate passing by the Swans, the ball was flashed across the QPR penalty area but this time Courtney Baker-Richards couldn’t control the ball and missed an opportunity to double the lead.
Half-time ended with the Swans on top and the score didn’t reflect the chances that were created.

The second half saw the Swans take full control of this game when Connor Roberts got into the visitors penalty area and he placed his shot which took a slight deflection into the roof of the QPR net. 2-0
Swans made substitutions and a welcome return to the field of play from Swans club captain Leroy Fer and Jay Fulton. They replaced Bersant Celina who on another day could have scored but for some off target shooting and Courtney Baker-Richards.
Jay Fulton added Swans third goal when he angled a close range effort towards the far post only to be deflected on the way into the visitors goal. 3-0
The game was effectively over and the visitors couldn’t find a way back . So it was a valuable three points and a clean sheet. It means that the Swans move up to seventh in the Championship.
