Alzheimer’s Society Swansea Memory Walk cancelled due to weather warnings!
Alzheimer’s Society Swansea Memory Walk has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. Louise Oakley, Head of Mass Participation Events at Alzheimer’s Society said:
“Unfortunately we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel Swansea Memory Walk due to adverse weather conditions forecast for this Saturday the 13th of October”.
“The Met Office has issued an Amber weather warning for rain and a Yellow weather warning for strong winds in the area, during the hours of the event. With this walk being a coastal walk, it is expected that wind gusts could reach up to 53mph. Therefore we feel it would be unsafe to hold the event in these conditions.
“We are really sad to make this announcement and we are incredibly grateful for your support of the Swansea Memory Walk.”
Alzheimer’s Society is available to answer any questions about the event and fundraising and will happily process refunds, either by email at memorywalk@alzheimers.org.uk or phone on 0300 330 5452.
