Cwmamman United vs Dinas Powys JD Welsh Cup Round One
Saturday 20th October
2.30pm kick off
Cwmamman United eased themselves into round 2 of this seasons JD Welsh Cup with a convincing 4-0 win today. The score line could have been more emphatic if Cwm had capitalised on their dominance over their opponents.
It was Blues debutant Calem Rees who opened the scoring with a well taken goal after only seven minutes. 1-0
Cwmamman were winning possession with ease and with the pace of Cwm’s Ryan Hurlow and on form striker Ashley Curtis, both players were causing the opposition defence all sorts of problems.

However Cwm could not add to their goal tally and had to settle for a 1-0 lead at half time.
Cwmamman were relentless in the second half and again it was Ryan Hurlow who hit the woodwork twice, once with a speculative cross that curled in and hit the bar and on another occasion. He beat his full back and rounded the goalkeeper only to see his effort rebound off a post.
(Ryan Hurlow left in disbelief that he didn’t score today)
It took an own goal to finally settle the outcome of this game after Cwm’s centre forward Brieg Matthews pressurized his marker into getting the decisive final touch. 2-0
After this Cwmamman finally reaped their rewards for their attacking play and it was Cwm’s forward Brieg Matthews who helped himself to a brace of goals which gave the score line of 4-0 a more realistic tale of how this cup tie was played out.
(Brieg Matthews scored a brace of goals)
Final Score
Cwmamman United 4
Dinas Powys 0
