THE BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION LAUNCHES HOME MAKEOVER CHALLENGE IN CARDIFF

This autumn the British Heart Foundation (BHF) is calling on the nation to transform their homes and help beat heartbreak forever by taking on its Makeover Challenge.

Launching this autumn, the BHF are asking shoppers to get creative and give their homes a fresh new look as we move inside for the cooler months, using items bought at BHF stores.

From upcycling a pre-loved piece of furniture to refreshing a whole room or space, the BHF are encouraging interiors enthusiasts, bargain hunters and those on a budget to get involved and head into their local Cardiff store to give their home a seasonal update and share the new looks on social media with the #BoughtatBHF hashtag.

Offering furniture and electrical goods, new and used home wares and stylish homes accessories, every item sold in BHF stores will help to raise funds for research into heart disease, stroke, vascular dementia and diabetes. Last year, BHF furniture stores sold over 140,000 donated sofas, which went towards raising more than £25 million for the charity’s vital work.

Each year heart and circulatory diseases kill around 700 people in Cardiff and currently 33,000 people in the city are living with them. It’s essential that we continue to accelerate research into new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat these terrible conditions.

Interior design expert and TV presenter Linda Barker said:

“British Heart Foundation stores are a real treasure trove of hidden gems and a great place to get inspired when giving your home a fresh new look. Whether upcycling a vintage piece of furniture or simply adding some new accessories, you can give a space a makeover without having to break the bank – all while helping raise funds for life saving heart research.”

Allison Swaine-Hughes, Retail Director at the BHF said:

“With the cooler months just around the corner, autumn is the ideal time to give your home a refresh. We know our shoppers have got stacks of creativity, so we want to see the fantastic ways they’ve been transforming their homes. Every penny raised in our shops goes towards vital research into heart disease, stroke, vascular dementia and diabetes.”

BHF furniture and home stores offer the perfect solution for students, first time buyers and savvy shoppers seeking affordable home wares, with sofas from £95 and wardrobes from £40.
