Officers have arrested seven men and two women on suspicion of conspiring to supply class A controlled drugs.

All of those arrested are from the Bridgend County Borough area and are all currently in police custody.

A significant amount of cash and drugs were seized after search warrants were executed last night and this morning.

Officers carried out the search warrants in the Ynysawdre area of Bridgend.

Acting Detective Chief Inspector Dean Taylor said:

“This was a joint investigation carried out by detectives and neighbourhood police officers who are working together to combat drug dealing in Bridgend.

“I really hope this sends a strong message to those involved in these types of crimes that we have our eyes on you.

“This activity also provides reassurance to the community that we are acting on the information we receive from them and will continue to disrupt and break-up criminality of this type. I would like to thank our communities for their support and request that they continue to provide information on drug dealing activity in the area.”

Local policing deputy for Bridgend Sgt Jason Wilcox said:
