SOUTH WALES POLICE

South Wales Police are investigating a serious road traffic collision which occurred just after 2:15pm on Monday the 12th of November 2018. The collision occurred at the junction of High Street and the A4061 in Treorchy, known locally as ‘Stag Square’; and involved a Red Ford EcoSport and a female pedestrian.

The 81-year-old pedestrian has sustained serious and life threatening injuries and is currently being treated at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. The road remained closed for approximately three and a half hours to allow investigative work to be conducted.

South Wales Police would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding during this time. The Police would also like anybody who may have witnessed the collision, has captured it on their dash-cam, or who may have any other relevant information, to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, via 101, quoting reference number 1800430506.
