Attempted robbery, Lloyds TSB, Gorseinon

Detectives investigating an attempted robbery at a bank in Gorseinon are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Armed officers were deployed alongside divisional teams to Lloyds TSB on High Street shortly after 10am this morning (Tuesday, November 20th), following reports that two men carrying weapons had entered the building.

The men, who were said to be dressed blue overalls with their faces covered, had fled the scene empty-handed prior to the arrival of police.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

A section of High Street was closed off following the incident while forensic enquiries were carried out, and some local residents were asked to stay indoors for a short time as a precautionary measure.

The public are thanked for their patience and cooperation.

Enquiries to identify and locate the suspects are ongoing and officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area prior to or following the incident, or anyone who has any information which could assist the investigation.
