The news follows the recent unveiling of the bandâs striking new single âWould You Rather Be Lonely?â, which has been receiving airplay on BBC 6 Music throughout this week. Loaded with the cavaliering thrillsânâspills that witnessed its high-octane predecessor âHoneyâ receive nationwide radio play on BBC 6 Music (Chris Hawkins, Tom Robinson, Steve Lamacq), BBC Radio Wales (Janice Long) and Radio X (Ross Buchanan, Gordon Smart, John Kennedy), âWould You Rather Be Lonely?â has all the hallmarks of another surefire hit single.

The track is the latest to be lifted from Red Rum Clubâs highly anticipated debut album: âMatadorâ, set for worldwide release on 11th January 2019 via the Modern Sky UK label (The Blinders / Slow Readers Club).
With lyrics taut with all the grittiness of a high-noon drama and soundscapes bristling with the arid atmosphere of a cactus-studded panorama, Red Rum Club debut album âMatadorâ will take you to a world of Spaghetti Western RockâNâRoll like no other. Packed with swashbuckling song narratives, gripping guitar lines and the trumpeting trademarks worthy of Tarantinoâs finest film scores, âMatadorâ lassoes the listener with 10 potently original tracks gleaming with widescreen ambition. From its Bandito blues to its Alamo allegro, the intrepid originality and knowing sense of adventure of this sextetâs outlaw oeuvre are sure to have you hooked.
âMatadorâ was recorded at the infamous Parr Street Studios in Liverpool, with added production assistance from Chris Taylor.

Propagators of rousing rockânâroll that oozes with a low-slung attitude, Red Rum Club are striking new sextet from Liverpool.
Initially forming in 2016, the six-piece have been biding their time, pedantically collecting melody by melody, lyric by lyric, the songs of their epically envisioned forthcoming debut album. With a strong sense of camaraderie and a remarkable DIY work ethic, Red Rum Club have toured the UK extensively, learning the ropes of booking, managing, recording, and of course performing duties entirely independently as they slowly edged towards their dreams of a releasing their debut album. 100% Grassroots, authentic and with a sound and vision defined completely on their terms, Red Rum Club are completely thereal deal and needless to say adoring fans havenât be hard to come-by. With their frenetic live shows and now-notorious guerrilla gigs in the North-West quickly becoming the stuff of local legend (just check out the bandâs roof-top performance of âCalexicoâ and âAngelineâ for Signature Live), RRC have already amassed a loyal fan-base in their native Liverpool and across the wider nation.
Winning over countless fans this year with tent-tipping sets at Y-Not, Truck Fest, Sound City and Isle Of Wight Festivals, the band also embarked on a UK tour of packed-out venues throughout the Autumn, which included a momentous SOLD OUT show at the capacious O2 Academy in Liverpool.
Certification of what has been a benchmark year for the band, Red Rum Club were also awarded the prestigious Pirate Prodigies UK industry prize for âBest Emerging Bandâ 2018.
Red Rum Club now look to the release of the eagerly anticipated debut album: âMatadorâ in 2019.
