Luke will be among schoolchildren, teachers, employers and employees ignoring the winter blues and wearing shades and garish bright orange clothes on Friday February 1st 2019 in a bid to help beat muscle-wasting conditions.
Schools and businesses across the region have registered for the Go Orange for a Day campaign. They are joining thousands of people UK-wide raising money for Muscular Dystrophy UK’s national challenge, the feel-good fundraiser sees people dressing in orange and wearing shades for a £1 donation to Muscular Dystrophy UK. This year the charity is hoping for 50,000 participants and to raise over £50k.
Julia Poulton Muscular Dystrophy UK’s Senior Regional Manager said: “People have had amazing ideas to brighten the day and we are hoping everyone will share their stories on social media, whether they’re at home, at school or in workplaces.
