POLICE ON SCENE AT ASDA LLANELLI AFTER RTC INJURES PENSIONER

The West Wales Chronicle have just attended a single vehicle collision in the ASDA car park Llanelli involving a red KIA (December 19). An elderly pedestrian is believed to have been involved in the incident earlier this morning.

Currently traffic flow is affected into the car park as three police vehicles are in attendance and on scene at the incident. It is advisable to try to avoid the area for the next few hours as an investigation is underway and a large section of the parking facilities are currently off-limits.

A spokesperson for ASDA told The West Wales Chronicle:

“A collision has taken place at just before 07.55am this morning, I know the time as I was on the phone to my partner. There was someone injured, I believe an elderly male from what I saw. An ambulance attended as well as the police. I hope the individual will be ok.”

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police told the Chronicle:

“Police were called to Asda in Llanelli at around 8am this morning, following a report of a collision between a car and a man.

“It was established that a car had collided with a man in his 70s, who sustained injuries to his leg and head.

“He was taken to hospital.

“Officers remain at the scene as they carry out enquiries to determine the circumstances of the collision.”
