NEWS UPDATE
Drugs and weapons were seized by police from a house in Barry yesterday (December 19).
A search warrant was carried out yesterday by local neighbourhood officers along with the territorial support team. Officers found a crossbow, a large machete type knife and an air rifle. A quantity of drugs believed to be class A were also recovered.
A 43-year-old man from Barry was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A. He has been released under investigation.
Chief Inspector Tony Williams said:
“Yesterday’s warrant was as a result of us receiving information from the community and I hope this demonstrates that we are listening and we are taking action.
“Weapons such as this have no place in our communities. Anyone found in possession of these kind of weapons in a public place will be arrested.
“Please keep reporting your concerns regarding the use and supply of drugs to us so that we can continue our fight to rid our streets of drugs.”
