With his new album ‘Singing to Strangers’ out March 15th, Jack Savoretti releases the video to his epic new single and Radio 2’s record of the week ‘Candlelight’ everywhere today.

Shot in Rome at the historic Cinecitta film studios and directed by Charles Mehling (formerly of The Brian Jones Town Massacre) the haunting video follows the nostalgic journey of Jack and a long lost love throughout the eternal city.

“I really wanted to thank Rome and Italy for inspiring this album with all the amazing cinema and music that I was brought up on”, Jack says. “It’s somewhat of a homage to Italian culture and to my father and my fathers’ father. It’s important to remember and celebrate our roots, and mine are very deeply rooted in a more romantic time of European history.”

‘Candlelight’, co-written with Joel Potts (Athlete, Ezra), is an intoxicating rhapsody of strings, choral harmonies, sinuous bass and guitar, with Savoretti’s woody, heartfelt rasp perfectly woven in between. “The studio is in the basement of this huge church and the atmosphere in there was essential when recording ‘Candlelight’” says Jack “that track became the calling card of the album.”

Produced by Cam Blackwood (George Ezra) and recorded in Rome at Ennio Morricone’s studio this summer, ‘Singing To Strangers’ features Jack’s acclaimed live band: guitarists Pedro Vito and Sam Lewis; bassist Sam Davies, drummer Jesper Lind, Davide Rossi (Coldplay, Goldfrapp) on strings and musical director Nikolai Torp on keys.

Having appeared alongside Kylie Minogue on both Jonathan Ross and Michael Mcintyre performing their track ‘Music’s Too Sad Without You’ last year, Jack will play the following UK dates next summer:
