NEWLY-QUALIFIED DRIVER SHAKEN AFTER STONES THROWN AT HER MOVING CAR

South Wales Police

A newly-qualified driver was left shaken and in shock after stones were thrown at her moving vehicle on Monday evening. Police are appealing for information following the incident, which occurred at approximately 11.30pm on the A4067, near the Liberty Stadium in Swansea.

The windscreen of the Toyota Aygo was smashed and damage was also caused to the roof and wing-mirror, after a number of stones are believed to have been thrown from a railway bridge.

Sergeant Steve Pritchard said: “This was a mindless act of vandalism, which could have had far more serious consequences for the victim as well as other motorists.

“The driver hasn’t long passed her test and this incident has left her shaken, and knocked her confidence through no fault of her own.

“I’d appeal to anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area, particularly on or near the bridge, around the time of the incident, to come forward.

“Anyone with any information which may assist is also asked to get in contact.”
