Fatal collision, M4 Junction 45 – Family tribute

The family of a man who died following a collision on the M4 on Sunday evening (January the 27^th) have paid tribute to him.

Antony David Lewis of Port Mead, Swansea, died at the scene of the single-vehicle collision, which occurred on the off-slip at junction 45 Ynysforgan at approximately 7.05pm.

Paying tribute to 54-year-old, his family said: “Antony leaves behind his loving parents Margaret and David, his loving sister Alison and brother-in-law James, and ex-wife Teresa.

“His Children Alex, Matthew and Bethany are distraught by their father’s death; he’s left a huge hole in our lives that will never be filled.

“Antony had a wide range of friends from both Port Talbot and Morriston, who will all be devastated by his sudden passing. Antony was loyal to his family and friends, would talk to anyone and would show respect and kindness to all who knew him.

“He had a sense of humour and always made us laugh.”

The family added that their thoughts were also with his work colleagues at Pipework Mechanics in Pyle, Bridgend, where Tony – as he was known to colleagues – worked as a welder. They said that he would be “greatly missed” by his co-workers.

Mr Lewis’ family do not wish to issue a photograph.
