The project will also take a proactive role in addressing mental health issues. Participants with complex mental health issues will be offered professional support. The service will be provided Neath, Swansea and Port Talbot, Crisis will work closely with Skylight South Wales to deliver this project.
Karen Grunhut, Director of Crisis Skylight South Wales said:
‘Crisis is absolutely delighted to receive this grant from the National Lottery Community Fund to support our services in South Wales. The new volunteer roles created by this project will offer a great opportunity for people with lived experience of homelessness to use their experiences in a positive way and ensure that all involved in the project are more able to fulfil their potential.
“The funding will also enable us to offer greater psychological support to the people we work with, where the effects of previous trauma or undiagnosed mental health conditions pose real barriers for people who want to move away from homelessness.‘
