Haven Champions British Sport as Partner of Team GB
This exciting partnership will see Haven become a partner of Team GB, bringing sports closer to coastal holiday makers in the UK
Leading UK holiday park operator, Haven, is excited to announce its partnership with Team GB, becoming an official partner to support the team in the build up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The partnership, made in agreement with the British Olympic Association, will see Haven building on its commitment to celebrate the Great British coast. It will give families a chance to experience a slice of Tokyo 2020 at Haven’s holiday parks through fun activities, with Team GB Olympians appearing in parks around the UK.
Team GB’s planning for Tokyo is well underway and the ability to send a competitive team in the most prepared state is down to commercial partnerships, like Haven, which allows the planning to start well in advance.
The partnership will provide Haven guests with the opportunity to meet some of their Team GB heroes and their mascot, Pride the Lion, at a number of events held at Haven parks across the UK. The athletes will be sharing their experiences as part of Team GB with the aim of inspiring the next generation of sports enthusiasts.
Haven already offers holiday makers and holiday home owners of all ages a variety of outdoor and indoor sport activities from swimming, cycling and sailing to tennis and archery. The renowned British holiday park operator will work with Team GB to build on its existing offerings to boost momentum and excitement in the run up to Tokyo 2020, encouraging guests to partake in a range of onsite games. With importance placed on thoughtful and innovative collaborations, the partnership will create a unique and inspiring programme of activities, providing a whole host of new experiences to discover as a family.
Jane Bentall, Managing Director at Haven, said: “We are thrilled to announce this momentous partnership for Haven. We are very proud to be supporting the incredible talent of Team GB, one of the UK’s most loved and trusted brands. We will strive to bring Team GB and their athletes closer to our holiday makers and holiday home owners across England, Scotland and Wales and help those young athletes realise their dreams in getting to Tokyo 2020.”
British Olympic Association CEO, Bill Sweeney, said: “We’re proud to partner with such a well-known and liked British brand as Haven. The British holiday industry continues to be hugely in demand with Haven’s approach to creating great, affordable family holiday experiences. We feel sure there is real overlap between loyal Haven customers and the Team GB fanbase.
“We’re excited by the creative discussions we’ve already had about how Team GB can promote activity and fun across all of Haven’s parks, including the inclusion of Olympic sports and initiatives linked to Team GB on holiday parks during and outside of Games time. With Tokyo 2020 under 18 months away, they join us at the perfect time.”
Whilst Team GB’s attention is firmly fixed on Tokyo 2020, Haven will offer activities that aim to inspire families in the run up to the Games and into the future.
Rio 2016 Olympic gold medallist, Kate Richardson-Walsh, joined the Haven team to celebrate the announcement of the partnership.
