The Llwynhendy and Pemberton Forum have teamed up with the Bryn and Trallwm Club to combat loneliness and social isolation for our older residents. Older people are especially vulnerable to loneliness and social isolation and it can have a serious effect on health. One of the most effective ways of combating loneliness is to combat isolation according to Age Uk.
Together the Club and Forum have secured funding to hire a disabled access community minibus. The minibus will collect elderly residents and take them to play bingo at the Bryn and Trallwm Club every Sunday evening.
Cllr Jason Hart, the Club’s Steward and Forum Chairman said “I would like to thank Mr Paul Rees from Coors for providing the funding for this important project. I’d also like to thank all the Forum members and the Club’s Officials for helping to bring the project forward”.
Cllr Sharen Davies said ” thank you to everyone for helping to get this vital service off the ground. It’s a pleasure being involved in such a worthwhile cause”.
This service is likely to begin in April, so please contact the forum for more information.
