Sexual assault, Swansea – Update
Police investigating an alleged sexual assault in Swansea city centre are no longer appealing for help from the public.
The incident, which was alleged to have happened on the junction of Oxford Street and Dilwyn Street at 6.30am on Monday (March 18), has been fully investigated by officers who are now satisfied that no assault took place.
Inspector Rhys Williams said:
“I appreciate that the reporting of this incident would have caused alarm locally, and I would like to thank those who assisted with the appeal.
“All allegations are treated seriously and I hope this incident does not deter genuine victims from coming forward as I can assure them they will be treated with sensitivity and that their allegations will be fully investigated.”
