THE SHIRES

FRIDAY 9TH AUGUST

After two previous SOLD OUT shows at Castell Roc, THE SHIRES are back by popular demand at Chepstow Castle this Summer.

Five years since they were discovered playing a gig in a Bedfordshire pub, Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes are now raising the bar in Nashville. Indeed, thanks to their three UK Top 10 albums, ‘Brave’ and ‘My Universe’, plus smash recent release ‘Accidentally On Purpose’ The Shires have become one of the most talked about acts in the home of country music and the first UK act ever to win a prestigious CMA Award, The Jeff Walker Global Artist Award.

Perhaps the best illustration of why The Shires have become huge players in music, and not just country, is how some of the world’s top writers want to work with them – and they don’t come much bigger than Ed Sheeran. The global superstar provided his song ‘Stay The Night’ for their third album after seeking out Ben and Crissie at his Nashville concert last October, where he also got to see the latter’s drinking ability first hand.

Working with Ed shows just how far The Shires have come since Ben’s 2013 Facebook plea for a female singer with a mutual love of country to work with him. A year later they signed to Decca records and have gone on to play Glastonbury, tour with Irish chart-toppers The Corrs, presented awards at the C2C awards and become a staple of BBC Radio 2.

Long proven champions of the festival circuit, The Shires return to Chepstow on Friday 9th August promising another enchanting evening not to be missed.

THE 80s VS 90s EXTRAVAGANZAFEATURING…
MARTIN KEMP – ‘BACK TO THE 80’S’

+ Special guests: S CLUB 3

SATURDAY 10TH AUGUST

For the first time in Chepstow Castle’s 950+ year history, it will be hosting a huge “80s vs 90s Extravaganza”.

As part of the festivities, the one and only – Martin Kemp – will be bringing the biggest 80’s club show Monmouthshire has ever seen. Following a string of rapturously-received SOLD OUT shows around the country in 2018, the Spandau Ballet legend and TV heart-throb will be back on the decks to spin all the best hits from a seminal pop era… And now, you too can join the Spandau star on an unforgettable journey: ‘Back To The 80’s’.

As the hitmaker behind ‘Gold’, ’True’ and countless other classics, it’s safe to say Martin knows a thing-or-two about the crème de la crème of what was a truly trailblazing decade for pop music. Let him be your guide on a night that will transport you back to the era on a roller coaster ride of its finest pop peaks.

Alongside his famous role as bassist in the iconic new wave outfit Spandau Ballet who have sold millions of records worldwide, Martin is also a huge TV personality who has starred in the likes of The Krays & Eastenders. Recently. Martin has starred in the smash West End production of ‘Chicago’ and also hit the headlines with his memorable appearance on Channel 4’s “Celebrity Island With Bear Grylls” last year.

And… Joining Martin Kemp at Chepstow are very special guests, S Club 3.

One of the UK’s biggest pop acts, S Club 7, have reunited as a 3 piece with lead singers Jo Omeara, Bradley Mcintosh & Tina Barrett. With 4 number one singles, top five albums, and some serious pop anthems, S Club are without doubt one of the biggest pop acts of recent times.

Come to Chepstow this Summer and relive the soundtrack of your youth as the band perform their greatest hits including Bring It All Back, Never Had a Dream Come True, Reach, and Don’t Stop Movin’ (to name a few).

REEF

SATURDAY 24TH AUGUST

Touring on the back of 2018’s acclaimed album ‘Revelation’, the revitalised west-country quartet’s first studio record since 2000’s ‘Getaway’, REEF join the Castell Roc line up this year, playing Chepstow Castle on Saturday 24th August.

Formed in 1993 and quickly signed to Sony imprint S, REEF released nine Top 40 singles – most famously ‘Place Your Hands’ – and four studio albums, including 1996’s platinum-selling No.1 album ‘Glow’, plus greatest hits album ‘Together’ before disbanding in 2003.

Breaking their hiatus in 2010, the band reunited for a short tour and haven’t looked back since. In 2016, Reef returned with their first single since 2003, ‘How I Got Over’, which was A-Listed at Radio 2 and saw the band perform live on Chris Evans’ radio show and on The One Show on BBC1. Reef were personally invited by Chris Martin to support Coldplay at Wembley Stadium, and also released their live album ‘Reef: Live At St Ives’, recorded over two sold-out nights at St Ives Guildhall.

And in 2018, REEF returned with their long-anticipated new album ‘Revelation’. Recorded in Ireland and has been produced by long-time collaborator George Drakoulias (The Black Crowes, Primal Scream, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), the record featured a guest vocal from Sheryl Crow on lead single ‘My Sweet Love’ and arrived as their first to also feature current guitarist Jesse Wood (formerly of the Ronnie Wood band/Faces/Red Racer).

Back at the top of their game, REEF will now storm Chepstow Castle with their crowd-slaying festival show – don’t miss out!
