MALE IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING THREATS TO KILL IN LLANELLI
The West Wales Chronicle and The Llanelli Standard attended a reported incident this morning (March 26) in the Seaside area of Llanelli. On arrival it was apparent that there was a high police presence along with concerned members of the general public dotted on scene. This was as a result of many areas around Seaside’s Marine Street having been cordoned off following a disturbance in the early hours.
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said:
“Dyfed-Powys Police were called to Burry Street, Llanelli, shortly after 2am today (March 26). Firearms officers attended the scene and engaged with a man who they subsequently arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and conveyed to hospital as a precaution. He is currently in police custody. The matter has been referred to the IOPC, who will conduct an independent investigation into the circumstances of the incident.”
At this time, the area is still cordoned off and it’s advisable to avoid.
