The Work Station offers ticket to employment

The Work Station, a major asset in the drive to help people seeking employment was officially opened on Wednesday 20th March 2019.

Funded by Neath Port Talbot Council, the Work Station is a ‘one stop shop’ offering practical hands on help to people that would like to get into a job through training, work experience, career advice, volunteering and one to one employment support.

The Work Station is located close the centre of Port Talbot and is five minutes’ walk from the central bus station.

Home tothe employment support services Workways+, Communities for Work, PACE and Careers Wales, the wealth of support available under one roof makes the Work Station a unique resource available to people in Neath and Port Talbot seeking training and employment support.

The Work Station was officially opened by Rob Jones, Leader of Neath Port Talbot Council.

Mr Jones said, “The purpose of the Work Station is to ensure that the people in our communities’ seeking employment and training support have the benefit of multiple support services in one easy to access building. We have several employment and training support organisationsbased out of the Work Station. This collaborative approach makes it so much easier for people to call into the building when they want and get the help they need.”

Councillor Annette Wingrave said, “The Work Station makes the challenge of getting intoa job far less daunting. Offering a range of practical employment and training solutions under one roof is a major benefit to anyone wanting to build a better life for themselves.”

The development of the Work Station from its original purpose as a fire station was funded through the Vibrant and Viable Places grant via the Welsh Government and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council.

People are more than welcome to drop in when they are passing or telephone 01639 684250 for an appointment.

The Work Station is open from Monday to Thursday 9am -5pm and Friday 9am -4.30pm and is located in Water Street SA126LF, next door to Blancos Hotel. Ample free car parking at the rear of the building.

Gorsaf Waith yn cynnig tocyn i gyflogaeth

Cafodd yr Orsaf Waith, ased pwysig yn yr ymgyrch i helpu pobl sy’n chwilio am gyflogaeth, ei hagor yn swyddogol ddydd Mercher 20 Mawrth 2019.

‘Siop dan yr unto’ yw’r Orsaf Waith, a ariannir gan Gyngor Castell-nedd Port Talbot, ac mae’n cynnig cymorth ymarferol i bobl a hoffai sicrhau swydd, a hynny ar ffurf hyfforddiant, profiad gwaith, cyngor gyrfaoedd, gwirfoddoli a chymorth un-i-un gyda chyflogaeth.

Mae’r Orsaf Waith yn agos at ganol Port Talbot, a gallwch gerdded yno mewn pum munud o’r orsaf fysiau ganolog.

Yn yr Orsaf Waith cewch hyd i’r gwasanaethau cefnogi cyflogaeth Workways+, Cymunedau dros Waith, PACE a Gyrfa Cymru, ac mae’r cyfoeth o gefnogaeth sydd ar gael o dan yr unto yn golygu ei bod yn adnodd unigryw sydd ar gael i bobl yng Nghastell-nedd a Phort Talbot sy’n chwilio am gymorth gyda hyfforddiant a chyflogaeth.

Agorwyd yr Orsaf Waith yn swyddogol gan Rob Jones, Arweinydd Cyngor Castell-nedd Port Talbot.

Dywedodd Mr Jones, “Diben yr Orsaf Waith yw sicrhau bod pobl yn ein cymunedau sy’n chwilio am gymorth gyda chyflogaeth a hyfforddiant yn gallu elwa ar wasanaethau cefnogi lluosog mewn un adeilad mynediad hwylus. Mae gennym ni sawl sefydliad cefnogi cyflogaeth a hyfforddiant yn gweithio o’r Orsaf Waith. Mae’r dull yma o weithredu ar y cyd yn golygu ei fod yn llawer haws i bobl alw heibio’r adeilad pan fyddan nhw’n dymuno, a chael yr help sydd ei angen arnyn nhw.”

Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Annette Wingrave, “Mae’r Orsaf Waith yn helpu i wneud her sicrhau swydd yn llawer llai brawychus. Mae cynnig amrywiaeth o atebion cyflogaeth a hyfforddiant ymarferol o dan yr unto yn fantais fawr i unrhyw un sydd am greu bywyd gwell iddynt eu hunain.”

Ariannwyd y gwaith i ddatblygu’r Orsaf Waith o’i diben gwreiddiol, sef gorsaf dân, trwy grant Lleoedd Llewyrchus, Llawn Addewid Llywodraeth Cymru a Chyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Castell-nedd Port Talbot.
