Borderlands reveals Everywhere

For those that participate in the hobby of video games, you’ll be no stranger to the name ‘Borderlands’, in fact it may be one of the most recognizable games of all time with its unique art style that sets it apart from others in the market.

Before 2019 we’d known next to nothing about Borderlands and what Gearbox (the creators of Borderlands) are planning to do with the franchise besides knowing that they’re probably working on a new game in the franchise. Yesterday, however, we got some trailers showing what they plan on doing with the series in the future.

Let’s address the big news first. Borderlands 3, the much anticipated sequel to the much loved Borderlands 2 gets a brand new trailer showing off the huge cast of characters we’re going to be interacting with in the game, the varied locations we’ll be exploring and of course, the guns we’ll be collecting. Not to mention it looks like we’ll be able to get guns with legs, nope can’t forget about those.

We also see a few shots of the villains we’ll be fighting in this new game and whilst they look interesting to be sure, we’ll have to wait and see if they can live up to the legacy of Handsome Jack, who was an extraordinary villain so they’ve got their work cut out for them.

Next, we see an unexpected reveal. They were happy to announce that Borderlands will be exploring a new market, specifically that of board games. The name of the board game they announced being Borderlands: Tiny Tina’s Robot Tea Party, which is quite a mouthful but it gets the point across I suppose. The game supports 2 to 5 Players and lasts around 15 minutes according to the back of the box. For those that are a fan of Borderlands AND Board Games this’ll surely be a treat.

Also we’ll be getting new 4k texture packs to the Handsome Collection as well as Borderlands 2 VR getting a few updates to make some changes and they’ll be adding all the Borderlands 2 DLC for free to the VR edition of the game.

Finally we see a new remastered edition of the very first Borderlands that will be made available on April the 3rd, which will prove to be an enjoyable time for those that are big fans of the franchise and what to experience the original game on their PS4’s and Xbox Ones. Thankfully, Gearbox has added many improvements to the original game adding a mini-map, better skins and making a few changes to the bosses in the game which they say should be a treat for fans.

Those that are on PC will also be happy to know that if you own the original Borderlands on PC, you’ll get a free upgrade to the remastered version. The release date they announced is April 3rd.
